PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for generating a lens shading compensation table according to a photographing environment are provided to obtain an optimum image in various environments. CONSTITUTION: A photographing environment condition determining unit(111) determines the photographing environment condition of an input image. A compensation parameter detecting unit(112) detects a compensation parameter corresponding to the determined photographing environment condition from the compensation parameters for a lens shading compensation. A compensation data generator(113) generates lens shading compensation data according to the detected photographing environment condition by applying the detected compensation parameter to the preset lens shading compensation data.
