The door has an existing unshielded door (P) comprising leaves (V1) with an inner face (Fi) located inside a dwelling or a room. An outer face of one of the leaves is situated outside the dwelling or the room. A shielding plate (1) is fixed on the inner face of the leaf of the existing door. The plate comprises side bolts (11) arranged at a level of a longitudinal edge of the plate. Metal frames (2) are fixed on sides of the leaf. Strike plates (21) are arranged in the frames, where the side bolts are inserted inside the strike plates during locking. An independent claim is also included for a method for shielding an existing unshielded door.
