LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD FOR THEREOF

PURPOSE: An LCD device and driving method thereof are provided to increase the display quality of a two-dimensional and three-dimensional image by automatically converting an image mode according to the viewing distance of a viewer. CONSTITUTION: A distance measuring unit(180) measures viewing distance between a viewer and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display). A video mode controller(170) sets up a 2D or 3D video mode according to a comparing result. A timing controller(160) arranges the video signal according to 2D or 3D video mode and converts the video data of a frame unit. The LCD displays the image according to 2D or 3D image mode. The video mode controller converts the 3D video mode into the 2D video mode.
