The invention relates to a method of transporting a wind turbine blade (5) between a support structure (7) and an installation location (18) on a wind turbine structure (1) comprising a wind turbine tower (2), a nacelle structure (3) and a hub (6), said installation location (18) being located at said hub (6), and said support structure (7) being located below said installation location (18), and wherein a crane (8) comprising at least one crane boom (9) is mounted on the nacelle structure (3), said method comprising the step of: connecting said crane (8) to said blade (5) at least at two support locations (16, 17) being spaced apart in the longitudinal direction (LDB) of the blade (5) and being arranged at each their side of the centre of gravity of the blade (5), moving the wind turbine blade (5) vertically by means of said crane (8) between said support structure (7) and said installation location (18). The invention furthermore relates to a wind turbine structure comprising a crane (8) mounted on the nacelle structure.
