PURPOSE: A tracking servo control method of a scratch section is provided to perform a tracking servo operation in case there is a scratch section on a high density optical disk. CONSTITUTION: When a laser beam spot enters a scratch section, a control unit varies a track drive hold level to an arbitrary value(S15). When the laser beam spot passes through the scratch section, the control unit detects the level of a tracking error signal. If the detected level is within the fixed permission range, the control unit applies a varied track drive hold level to a tracking servo control operation(S14, S18).
