<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing power transmission shaft reducing defective fraction relating to a collapse load. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of producing power transmission shaft, through which a power transition shaft is produced by subjecting an inner shaft 6 to serration engagement with respect to a tubular outer shaft 7 and forcing a protrusion part to the inner side formed on the inner surface of the outer shaft 7 by a prescribed length while pressing the protrusion part, the protrusion part is formed stepwise. Firstly, a fixed initial protrusion part is formed on a prescribed part of the outer shaft 7, the inner shaft 6 is forced into a preliminary press-fit length (12 mm), an initial shaft load is measured, a final protrusion part required for obtaining the target shaft load is estimated on the basis of the initial shaft load measured and obtained under the initial protrusion part, the final protrusion part is formed on the prescribed part and the inner shaft 6 is forced into a prescribed length (20 mm) longer than the preliminary press-fit length. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
