<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein, when a book is mounted on a bookrest in a spread state, a binding margin of the book is fractured or a back part thereof is damaged. <P>SOLUTION: This bookrest for mounting a book thereon in a spread state includes support plates for supporting both right and left spread parts. Fracture of a binding margin is suppressed/prevented by providing both the spread parts with tilt angles at which the outer sides thereof are directed upward, and spread angles of both the spread parts are adjusted in accordance with the binding condition/usage condition of the book. The bookrest is structured such that a recessed part for dropping down the back part of the book therein is made between both the support plates to suppress/prevent damage of the back part of the book, and the width of the dropping-down part is adjusted in accordance with the thickness of the book. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
