The pedal (3) has a column (1) swivelably pivoted on a base plate (2) and cooperated with a locking and unlocking unit, where the pedal is connected with a portion of a circular rim of a percussion instrument i.e. bass drum. The column is formed with a hub-like socket (18) at its lower end. The socket and a bearing segment are provided with respective opening sides spaced over extending inner walls. One of the inner walls of the bearing segment is provided with apertures, and a cone element is supported on a shaft (29).
