<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable region extraction device and a movable region extraction method that generate a traveling path by which a moving body can efficiently reach its destination while preventing extraction of such moving bodies as a person or other autonomous mobile robots that are moving away from the traveling path as obstacles when detecting obstacles in a movement region for the moving body to move. <P>SOLUTION: The movable region extraction device is provided with: first obstacle detection means for detecting first obstacle regions indicating the regions of obstacles based on distance information obtained by a first distance sensor; second obstacle detection means for detecting second obstacle regions indicating the regions of obstacles based on distance information obtained by a second distance sensor; and obstacle region extraction means for detecting continuously moving obstacles as moving objects based on the second obstacle regions, and extracts regions that are the first obstacle regions excluding the first obstacle regions indicating the regions of the moving objects as movable regions in which the moving body can move. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
