摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manuscript reading apparatus capable of suppressing damage of an AFE itself or electronic components around the AFE by suppressing temperature rise in the AFE (Analog Front End) when manuscripts are sequentially read. <P>SOLUTION: The manuscript reading apparatus comprises: a manuscript accommodation part which accommodates plural sheets of manuscripts; an imaging element which receives light reflected from the manuscript and generates an analog image signal; an AFE having an amplifier circuit which amplifies an analog image signal, a conversion circuit which converts the amplified analog image signal into a digital image signal, and a power down mode which cuts off electric power supply to the amplifier circuit and the conversion circuit; a manuscript feeding part which takes out one sheet of manuscript at a time from the manuscript accommodation part and feeds it to the reading position with the imaging element in a predetermined interval; a manuscript detection part which detects the manuscript under feeding; and an AFE control part which turns on the power down mode from the time when the back end of the preceding manuscript passes through a reading position to the time when the front end of the following manuscript passes through the reading position based on a result of detection by the manuscript detection part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
