The device has a driving unit driving a supporting element (3) e.g. endless belt, for moving a cleaning element (4) i.e. bristle, over surface area of an object to be cleaned. A charging electrode (6) charges the element, and a discharging electrode (7) electro-statically discharging the cleaning element is arranged in moving direction of the cleaning element back to the charging electrode. A removing unit removing particles from the surface area of the object is arranged on the discharging electrode or in the moving direction of the cleaning element back to the charging electrode.
