The present invention provides a method for Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) resource allocation in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) system, including: the system side setting different SRS transmission periods corresponding to different cycle shifts, and during the procedure of allocating SRS resources for a user equipment (UE), setting a cycle shift for the UE according to the SRS transmission period adopted by the UE. The method and apparatus of the present invention realize simple and effective SRS resource multiplexing with high utilization ratio among UEs with different periods.
