BACKLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY APPARATUS INCLUDING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A backlight assembly and liquid crystal display device including the same are provided to reinforce the rigidity of a liquid crystal display device by combining one end of a fixing unit with a rigid member. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of point light sources is arranged in one side of a light guiding member. A supporting unit(173-1) fixes a plurality of point source of lights. A base unit is expanded in the edge of the supporting unit and is overlapped with the light guiding member. An optical source module includes an extension unit(173-4) which is expanded in one end of the base unit. A receiving box(180) includes a fixing unit which is expanded from the edge of the bottom unit. A rigid member is fixed to the fixing unit.
