One of the challenges connected with producing second generation bio etha nol is the collection and transportation of biomass. A steady and reliable sup ply biomass is an important factor and it is desirable to be able to utilize dif ferent types of biomass e.g. straw or wood waste. The invention relates to a mobile modular system and a method for constructing a processing plant for producing ethanol from biomass; the modular system comprises two or more modules comprising; a pre-treatment device, one or more fermentation reac tor(s) and a distillation device.
