<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which takes on a hue of yellow to orange, to brown and to red and exhibits excellent color developing properties, excellent light resistance as a compound for a variety of recording, particularly inkjet recording, and excellent solubility in water; and an ink composition including the compound. <P>SOLUTION: The compound is an azo compound represented by formula (1) or a salt thereof, wherein R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>to R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>each independently represent H, 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxy; R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">6</SP>each independently represent 1-4C alkyl; R<SP POS="POST">7</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">8</SP>each independently represent H or 1-4C alkyl; n represents an integer of 1-4; and X represents a divalent group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
