<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To alert a user not to use USB connection devices that are absent from a list. <P>SOLUTION: A USB adapter comprises a case 10 containing a USB adapter slot part 30 in which a USB terminal of a USB flash drive 100 is inserted, and a USB adapter connector part 12, which projects from the side wall of the case 10 and is inserted in a USB slot 7 provided on a personal computer 5. The USB adapter enables read/write of data between the personal computer 5 and the USB flash drive 100 when a USB connector part 102 of the USB flash drive 100 is inserted in the USB adapter slot part 30, and the USB adapter connector part 12 is inserted in the USB slot 7.
