<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information terminal allowing smooth inputting operation with an operation key even if many operation keys are provided on a surface of the side opposite to a display surface of a display device. <P>SOLUTION: In a portable information terminal, a display screen is provided on a front side of a display device, while many operation keys are arranged on the opposite side, in other words, on the rear side. The portable information terminal is provided with a half-depression sensor for detecting that an operation key has been pressed halfway, and/or a touch sensor for detecting that a finger of an operator has touched the operation key. With an image of array of operations keys being displayed, and if it is determined that half-depression or contact operation has been made with an operation key based on an input signal from the half-depression sensor or the touch sensor, a process is performed which changes display of an image corresponding to the operation key by a control part incorporated in the portable information terminal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
