A portable communication terminal for extracting subjects of interest to the user comprises: a term-vector-generating unit for generating term vectors representing various items of text data in accordance with the types of text data stored in a mobile communication terminal; a subject-classification-tree storage unit which comprises at least one item of training data and which stores a subject-classification tree in which a plurality of nodes expressing subjects are linked by means of a tree structure; and a similarity-level calculating unit for calculating the level of similarity between training data items broken down by the nodes contained in the subject-classification tree and the term vectors; wherein the similarity-level calculating unit extracts node names for representing subjects of interest to the user within the subject-classification tree in accordance with the similarity level.
