WATER-SOLUBLE AZO COMPOUND OR SALT THEREOF, INK COMPOSITION INCLUDING THE SAME, AND COLORED MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which takes on a hue with high brightness suitable for inkjet recording and ensures a variety of high fastness of a recorded material and excellent storage stability of an ink composition when used to prepare the ink composition, and an ink composition including the compound.

SOLUTION: The compound is a water-soluble azo compound represented by formula (1) or a salt thereof. The ink composition including the compound has chroma and a hue suitable for inkjet recording and ensures a variety of high fastness, particularly high ozone resistance of a recorded material and excellent storage stability of a recorded image.
