<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module manufacturing method which improves a hermetic seal efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: An optical module manufacturing method according to the present invention is a manufacturing method of an optical module 10 comprising an optical fiber 3 and an optical fiber insertion pipe 2 through which the optical fiber is inserted and includes the encapsulation step for an hermetic seal of the optical fiber insertion pipe 2. The encapsulation step comprises a contact step in which a heat conduction member 5 having a higher heat conductivity than an environmental atmosphere of the encapsulation step and a smaller calorific power than the optical fiber insertion pipe 2 when it is inductively-heated, is disposed by contacting with a lateral side of the optical fiber insertion pipe 2, a heating step in which the optical fiber insertion pipe 2 disposed by contacting with the heat conduction member 5 is inductively-heated, and a supplying step in which a solder 6 is supplied to a supply hole 4 provided on the optical fiber insertion pipe 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
