<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To strike a balance between the running performance at a high level and the drainage performance on a snow/ice road surface. <P>SOLUTION: A main lateral groove 11 of a pneumatic tire extends toward the outside of a tire width direction as progressing toward the rear side B from the front side F in a tire rotation direction, a first groove 21 extending toward the front side F and the outside of the tire width direction and a second groove 22 extending toward the rear side direction B and the inside of the tire width direction are made to communicate with the main lateral groove 11, and an angle formed of a virtual line L along a tread width direction and the first groove 21 is different from an angle formed of the virtual line L and the second groove 22. Since the main lateral groove 11 extends toward the outside of the tire width direction as progressing toward the rear side B from the front side F of the tire rotation direction, an effect for draining water on the road surface toward the outside of the tire width direction is enhanced. Furthermore, the first groove 21 and the second groove 22 which are made to communicate with the main lateral groove 11 increase snow pole shearing forces on the snow road surface, thereby improving on-snow performance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
