A sheet processing apparatus includes a support unit on which sheets are stacked together as a sheet stack, first and second binding units that bind the sheet stack as first and second sheet stacks, respectively, an arranging unit that arranges the first and second sheet stacks such that an area through which the first sheet stack passes and an area through which a portion of the second sheet stack at which the second sheet stack has been bound passes do not overlap and such that, in a transporting path of the first and second sheet stacks, an area through which the first sheet stack passes and an area through which the portion of the second sheet stack passes are located at different positions in a direction that crosses the transporting path, and a transporting unit that transports one of the first and second sheet stack disposed at different positions. |
