<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner replenishment method of an image formation apparatus using a two-component developer and enabling a toner cartridge replacement without stopping an operation of the image formation apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In a new printer 1, a toner cartridge 27 is installed when a toner 47 is empty in a reserve tank 26 and a toner supply mechanism 43 supplies the toner 47 of an amount D of charged toner inside the toner cartridge to fill up the reserve tank 26 for a full storage amount E of toner. A residual surplus amount F of toner remains in the toner cartridge 27. During a printing, a dot counter 64 measure a consumption amount G of toner. When a toner concentration sensor 51 detects a toner reduction, the toner 47 is supplied from the reserve tank 26 to a developing machine 14. When G>F, a display notifies user "Possible to replace a toner cartridge". If the user ignore the notification for replacement and the toner supply to the developing machine 14 becomes impossible, the image forming apparatus is forcibly stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
