<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optically variable security device. <P>SOLUTION: A security device comprises at least an optically variable effect generation structure created by laminating a first optically variable effect generation structure (3 to 5) having a surface relief microstructure including a reflective layer formed of a dielectric material of a high refractive index and a second optically variable effect generation structure (3' to 5') of a volume hologram.
