<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve focal ratio by carrying out AF control suitable for a scene. <P>SOLUTION: The position of an imaging lens 101 when a peak is obtained for AF evaluation value with the face area as reference is made a temporary in-focus position (Temp_pint_pulse0). When a flag for carrying out an AF action for back light is stored, the position of the imaging lens 101 when the peak is obtained for the AC evaluation value with the chest area as reference is made a temporary in-focus position (Temp_pint_pulse2). Whether an absolute value of the difference between the two in-focus positions ¾Temp_pint_pulse0-Temp_pint_pulse2¾ is less than a prescribed tolerance threshold is determined and when the difference between the absolute values is less than the tolerance threshold, the temporary in-focus position (Temp_pint_pulse0) is deemed as having high reliability as a final in-focus position, the imaging lens 101 is moved to the temporary in-focus position (Temp_pint_pulse0) and focused. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
