The device (100) has a runner hub (112) and a cover plate (145) arranged at a drive shaft (135). The shaft is arranged in a housing (130) that is formed with a front-sided cooling opening (131) and a rear-sided cooling opening (132). The hub and the plate are made of fire-resistant materials in a region lying opposite to the cooling openings. The material is selected from one of a group consisting of plastic material with extinguishing property, ceramic material, metallic material or resin material. The material is provided in form of coatings arranged on a side of the hub and the plate.
