<p>The present light source device is provided with: a light source; a wavelength selection element which selectively allows the transmittance of light from the light emitted from the light source within a predetermined wavelength range; a polarization separation element (8) which separates the light transmitted by the wavelength selection element into polarized components which are two linearly polarized components orthogonal to each other; and a band pass filter which is arranged so as to form a predetermined angular range in relation to the optical axis of the respective polarized components, and which is configured so that the transmitted wavelength band of the polarized components is different depending on the angular range. Light which includes at least the range of the transmitted wavelength band of the band pass filter corresponding to the predetermined angular range is transmitted to the polarization separation element by the wavelength selection element.</p> |
