The brush has a head part (10) with bristles (14) wherein in the head or neck part is a hollow area (22) with outlet opening (36) for an active cleaning substance. The hollow area matches the shape of the active substance element (24) with a defined outer shape. The volume of the hollow area is larger, preferably up to a maximum of 4 times larger than the volume of the active substance element so that this is rinsed round on all sides by water during use. The brush is preferably flexible in the region of the hollow area so that the latter deforms during use and water is sucked in and out of the hollow area. Independent claim describes method for making brush by providing hollow area in hard component .
