摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display device which pseudo-stereoscopically displays a two dimensional image without deteriorating the light usage efficiency and less affecting the visibility depending on a rotation angle. <P>SOLUTION: A stereoscopic image display device includes a shutter for a right eye and a shutter for a left eye, both of which have an electrochromic element. The electrochromic element includes: stereoscopic image visibility glasses which transmit only a linear polarized light in a predetermined polarization direction when no voltage is applied, and all polarized lights when a voltage is applied; a three-dimensional image generation circuit for generating a three-dimensional image from a two-dimensional image; a two-dimensional image display device for alternately displaying an image for a right eye and an image for a left eye in a time-series; and a control circuit for matching a timing of applying a voltage to each electrochromic element provided in the shutter for a right eye and the shutter for a left eye, with a timing of displaying the image for a right eye and the image for a left eye. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
