<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilevel power converter facilitating a design and having reliability and stability at high levels. <P>SOLUTION: A power converter comprises a power block outputting at least two voltage levels including an upper voltage level and a lower voltage level, and a multilevel phase block including N-pieces of H-bridge cells. Each of N-pieces of H-bridge cells has at least one floating capacitor. The power converter includes the multilevel phase block connected to the power block, a reference voltage generator outputting a reference signal, and a main controller which inputs the reference signal and checks a voltage for the floating capacitor of the multilevel phase block. A step voltage of the power block is equal to N times or (N+1) times of a predetermined voltage and equal to an electric potential difference between neighboring levels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
