<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable extra length processing device which saves space storing an extra length portion of a cable, and a method for processing an extra length portion of a cable. <P>SOLUTION: The cable extra length processing device which is placed at a position for processing an extra length portion of a cable and processes the extra length portion of the cable, has two winders 2 and 3 which wind up the extra length portion of the cable, and a connecter 4 which openably and closably connects the winders 2 and 3. The two winders 2 and 3 wind the extra length portion of the cable around one winder 2 clockwise, and wind the extra length portion of the cable around the other winder 3 counterclockwise.
