<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an auxiliary power source to quickly stop a power supply in a case where processing hangs up when power is supplied from the auxiliary power source due to power failure of a main power source. <P>SOLUTION: A POS terminal includes: a power supply unit 12; a power failure detecting circuit 122; a battery changeover circuit 123; and a battery extension circuit 125. The power supply unit 12 supplies power through a main power supply circuit 121 or from a battery 124. The power failure detecting circuit 122 detects power failure of the main power supply circuit 121. The battery changeover circuit 123 changes over from a power supply through the main power supply circuit 121 to the power supply from the battery 124 in response to power failure of the main power supply circuit 121. The battery extension circuit 125 stops the power supply from the battery 124 when a CPU 20, which sequentially performs processing by software, hangs up after the power supply through the main power supply circuit 121 has been changed over to the power supply from the battery 124. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
