<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that has excellent use efficiency of retroreflected light beams. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging device 1 comprises: a polarizing filter 21 that transmits light in a polarization direction parallel with the axis of transmission and reflects light in a polarization direction normal to the axis of transmission, where display light 13 representing a display image 12 is incident from the back face side and the polarization direction component of the incident light which is normal to the axis of transmission is reflected as first linearly polarized light; and a retroreflection part where the first linearly polarized light reflected at the polarization filter 21 is incident and retroreflected as second linearly polarized light with its polarization direction being changed to the direction normal to the polarization direction of the first linearly polarized light. The second linearly polarized light which has been reflected at the retroreflection part is transmitted through the polarizing filter 21 and forms the display image 12 on the front face side of the polarizing filter 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
