<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for a front passenger seat of an automobile which is not bulky when an air bag body is folded, is lightweight, and is reduced in the manufacturing cost. <P>SOLUTION: In the air bag device for the front passenger seat of the automobile comprising an inflator 2 blowing out a gas when a crash or a crash stop comparable to the crash is detected, and the air bag body 3 which can be expanded and opened up by the gas blown out from the inflator 2, the air bag body 3 includes a first buildup part 4 which is accordion-folded, and a second buildup part 7 which is placed on the first buildup part 4 and is capable of rising around a lower hinge 5 and of restraining an occupant from the front face at the position corresponding to that of the face of the occupant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
