A method is provided for operating a motor vehicle with a fuel tank and a filler opening that can be closed by a cap. The filer opening and the cap can be covered by a tank flap that can be moved between a covering position and an exposure position. To simplify refueling of the motor vehicle, a pressure equalization between the fuel tank and the environment is carried out if opening or imminent opening of the tank flap is detected. |
