<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound playback system which can localize a sound image at a location according to a video, by adjusting the ratio between direct sound and indirect sound. <P>SOLUTION: A sound playback system 3 acquires coordinates information of a video, when the video is displayed on a monitor 38. The sound playback system 3 has an attached speaker 47 displaced in a position proximal to a viewing position 90 of a listener and a plurality of surround speakers 40 displaced around the viewing position (distantly-positioned from the viewing position). In the sound playback system 3, a sound image of the video is localized at a location of the video by adjusting a gain and a phase of a sound signal to be output to the attached speaker 47 and the surround speakers 40, according to the coordinates of the video. The sound image can be localized in between the attached speaker 47 and the surround speakers 40, by installing the speakers at a position proximal to the viewing position and a position distant from the viewing position, since a listener perceives sound with a high indirect sound ratio as the sound from a distance and sound with a high direct sound ratio as the sound from close by. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
