<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic photoelectric conversion element capable of imparting a high open end voltage. <P>SOLUTION: The organic photoelectric conversion element includes a pair of electrodes and an organic layer provided between the electrodes, and the organic layer contains a conjugated polymer compound and a compound having a fused ring composed of 4 to 10 fused benzene rings. The compound having a fused ring composed of 4 to 10 fused benzene rings is preferably a compound having a pyrene ring or a compound having a perylene ring.
