<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation of a front face contrast of a transparent mode due to a change in an optimal black display voltage at a wide viewing angle under high humidity or high temperature environment in a liquid display device using a WV film as a retardation plate for an elliptical deflection plate in a light source side. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is arranged with, in the side of an array substrate 1, in the order from a back-face light source side, a first linear polarizer 6, a first retardation film 8, a second retardation film 10, a first TAC film 12, and a viewing angle compensation film 13 comprising a second TAC film 15 and a discotic liquid crystal film 14 in this order. The liquid crystal display device is further arranged with, in the side of an opposite substrate 2, in the order from the opposite-side face of the liquid crystal layer 3, a third retardant film 11, a fourth retardant film 9, and a second linear polarizer 7. Slow axes of front-face phase differences of the first and second TAC films 12 and 15 are disposed so as to orthogonally cross with each other. The first and fourth retardant films 8 and 9 are λ/2 plates, and the second and third retardant films 10 and 11 are λ/4 plates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
