<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent destruction of a file system for recorded data of both of a computer and a recording/reproducing device when the recording/reproducing device processes data recorded in the recording/reproducing device. <P>SOLUTION: The recording/reproducing device includes a detection part, a read/write control unit, and an address conversion part. Data recorded in the recording/reproducing device is independently processed. When a host device makes a write access request during independent data processing, the data is written to a different recording area of the recording/reproducing device.
