<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device capable of obtaining thickness of a character distinctly recognized even if the character is printed and eroded by the background color, performing expansion processing at an appropriate level, and suppressing excessive expansion. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device includes: a character edge detection unit 3 for detecting character edges from tag data indicating attributes of input image data; white character determination unit 4 for determining whether the character edge detected by the character edge detection unit 3 is an outer edges of a white character; and expansion processing unit 5 for, for each of the first pixel of a character whose character edge is determined to be an outer edge of a white character by the white character determination unit 4 and at least the second pixel adjacent to the pixel, performing expansion processing according to the white level of the outer edge of the white character and a difference between the white level of the outer edge of the white character and the white level of the white character. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
