<p>Provided is a material for spark plug electrodes which have excellent oxidation wear resistance and spark wear resistance and satisfy discharge characteristics during use. The material for spark plug electrodes contains 5-30 mass% Cu and 0.1-10 mass%, excluding 10 mass%, Rh, with the remainder comprising Pt. By alloying the two metals, i.e., Cu and Rh, in combination, a reduction in discharge voltage and an improvement in long-term resistance to spark wear are attained. Addition of either of the metals is only slightly effective in improving spark wear resistance and cannot be expected to produce the effect of reducing discharge voltage.</p> |
