The booster has a movable wall transferring output force to a piston of a main cylinder based on force of a brake pedal at an input link (37), where the booster is un-actuated from a standby position in an operation phase. A brake pedal clevis (38) connected with the link is pre-tensioned by a spring (39) e.g. helical compression spring or a plate spring, and the link is moved axially for decoupling the brake pedal in the operation phase. A control valve is arranged in a steering box to connect a work chamber with a negative pressure chamber or atmosphere.
