<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reception device which makes clocks used for encoding and decoding exactly synchronized at a transmission side and a receiving side in transmitting and receiving image and voice data via a network. <P>SOLUTION: A reception device for receiving data comprises: a tuner for receiving a broadcast signal including image and audio data and time reference information transmitted by a broadcast wave; a clock signal reproduction unit for generating a clock signal in time with the received time reference information; a communication processing unit for receiving data from another reception device connected via a network; and a control unit for controlling the tuner, the clock signal reproduction unit and the communication processing unit. When the reception device receives audio data and image data from the other reception device connected via the network, the control unit uses the clock signal generated in time with the received time reference signal for at least one of encoding or decoding the audio data or image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
