This invention relates to a method of providing control of micro organisms at a locus comprising a) providing a removable liquid coating composition comprising: i) a film-forming water soluble or water-dispersible agent; ii) at least one antimicrobial agent; iii) an inert solvent; b) applying said composition to the locus whereby a coating is formed; and c) removing said coating with an aqueous solution at a temperature of about 15°C to about 100°C.
