The apparatus (500) has a brake head (100) adjustable between a braking position and a ventilating position by a working positioning device. The brake head and the working positioning device are connected with each other over an adjusting force transferring clutch. The positioning device is formed of a drive unit (560) i.e. stepping motor, and a position element (558) i.e. linear spindle. The brake head occupies the brake position under effect of the engagement force applied by the clutch. An independent claim is also included for a brake system comprising a ventilating apparatus.
