<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new common secreted proteins of A/E pathogens causing an attaching and effacing (A/E) lesion, as for secreted proteins of bacterial pathogens and methods for their use. <P>SOLUTION: A method for promoting the secretion of a target peptide, such as type III antigen, includes expressing a recombinant Orf11/GrlA polypeptide to A/E pathogens including the recombinant Orf11/GrlA, and growing the A/E pathogens under conditions that favor the target polypeptide secretion. These polypeptides and nucleic acid molecules encoding these polypeptides are useful as vaccines, diagnostics, or drug screening tools for A/E pathogenic infections. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
