PUPIL CONCEALMENT STATE DETECTION DEVICE AND ON-VEHICLE CAMERA WITH THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pupil concealment state detection device capable of directly detecting a concealment state of the pupil.

SOLUTION: The pupil concealment state detection device 20 includes: a sight line direction detection means 22 for detecting the direction of a sight line of a driver; a luminance gradient calculation means 23 for calculating a luminance gradient of an image in an eye area; a gradient intensity calculation means 24 for calculating gradient intensity vertical distribution; a gradient intensity storage means 25 for storing data on reference gradient intensity vertical distribution when the direction of the sight line of the driver is the direction of an installment panel; a difference calculation means 26 for calculating difference between the data on the gradient intensity vertical distribution in the present frame and the data on the reference gradient intensity vertical distribution; an evaluation value calculation means 27 for calculating an evaluation value showing possibility that the pupil is concealed; and a pupil concealment determination means 29 for determining that the pupil is concealed when the evaluation value showing the possibility that the pupil is concealed continues for over a predetermined number of frames or more.
