<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device capable of assisting drive operation of a driver toward a traffic signal state by taking into consideration safety of a vehicle and improvement of fuel efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A driving support device assists drive operations to decide whether a vehicle passes an intersection or not based on signal information of a signal in the traveling direction of the vehicle, the speed of the vehicle, and the distance from the vehicle to the signal. In the case that the signal is expected to turn a stop signal (red) when the vehicle reaches the signal (at its stop line position) based on the signal information, the device provides driving support to encourage a driver to stop at the signal in timing in which the possibility of the increase of the speed by accelerating the speed of the vehicle is allowed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
