A coffee maker assembly is provided including a reservoir container including a reservoir opening defined by an upper rim providing access to a reservoir and at least one aperture defined on a surface thereof. The assembly also includes a release valve including a valve seal that rests in a hollow seal holder positioned concentric with the aperture. The release valve is rotatable between a first position in which the valve seal is in sealing contact with the aperture and a second position in which the valve seal is not in sealing contact with the aperture.
