摘要 A multi-region confection includes a first and a second confectionery material. The body portion of the multi-region confection includes an extruded first confectionery material, with a plurality of capillaries is disposed in the extruded body portion. The plurality of capillaries includes the second confectionery material. The second confectionery material includes 47 to 95 weight percent of a sugar alcohol, 1 to 15 weight percent water, and 0.1 to 1.5 weight percent of a slow-set pectin; wherein all weight percent values are based on the total weight of the second confectionery material. A confectionery composition comprising 47 to 95% sugar alcohol,1 to 5% water and 0.1-1.5% pectin having a degree of methoxylation of 50 to 70% is also described. The confectionery composition provides a well-defined filling whereby leakage of the capillary forming material is prevented or reduced.
